geckos wont eat mealies

bloodroses19 Dec 30, 2005 04:35 PM

i have had a female gecko for a year. she will only eat crckets and nothing else. i just asumed she was very picky. but i just got a male not to long ago and he also will not touch the mealies. is there any way i can intice them to eat them or sould i just not bother and let them be picky? im concerned because i plan on breeding them together one day and i have heard that the female should have pinkies and mealies while breeding. thanks for any replies.

u should just let them eat the crickets. another problam might be that the mealies aren't wiggling. you should throw a piece of a carrot into the mealy feeding bowl cuz that makes them wiggle more for some reason. the more they wiggle the more inticing they are to the gecko. and if u plan on breeding the females dont need mealies to get fat. to get the nice and plump for the season feed them wax worms and pinkies. but make sure your leo's dont get addicted to the waxies they're nickname is gecko crack so dont feed to many without throwing in crickets to make sure they're still liking those.
