For those Familiar w/ Rubbermaid sizes.

OneSexyWookie May 18, 2003 07:25 PM

I'm building a rack right now.

Is the Model #2223 Rubbermaid large enough for a Cal King...?

The floor dimensions are 16"W X 22"L, if you're not familiar with that model.

I put my 2001 male in today, just for a 'test' run, and he had enough room for his bowl, hide and enough leftover to stretch out.

With larger cages, the snakes have plenty of room to escape the heated end if needed. In a sweater box, the snake is at the mercy of the box temp, especially for a larger snake that occupies a good deal of floor space. Just make sure you don't overheat the cage and keep it clean all should be OK. My opinion after years of keeping snakes in sweater boxes is that kings/milks over 3 1/2ft should have larger cages. Females almost never get egg-bound in larger cages. But, most breeders use the size you stated for all of their kings/milks - even the 4ft ones.
