Baby Ball Died..Advice Needed...

GoldyGirl Dec 31, 2005 05:56 AM

Hi.. Last Friday I traded one of my male BPs for a "Female" baby. The guy said he got it at a show in Rochester, NY. He guaranteed it was eating. Looked healthy when we traded. Tried feedin him the night before last a live fuzzy mouse wanted nothing to do with it..Woke up in the morning he was dead. First of all the guy said it was female and it was male. Also said it was eating pinkies and it wouldn't touch pinkies i tried the fuzzy didn't touch that either. I am so frustrated. Just wanted to know if anyone else would ask for their snake back? I'd even offer to pay to get him back although he is a rescue/rehabilitated. The one people gave to me after finding in their toilet and tryin to kill him with Lye and stabbin with a fork. I couldn't even tell this one had anything wrong with it I feel TERRIBLE! If only I would have known Any replies are greatly appreciated.

Kris,
Sometimes they look healthy, but there is something wrong internally and these snakes will pass away when babies, maybe 3-4 months of age. If you kept ball pythons healthy in the past, I really don't think it's something you did.
Sorry to hear that happened we all want our babies to do well.

........first thing I think of this time of year is they were taken out in the cold air and got sick from that

at shows..I really get sick of seeing people walking outside with baby burms, big burms,boas,balls...all out in the air so they can feel "cool about what they just bought......wow......what makes me even sicker is the dealers taking cages and racks and all from the trucks and setting them outside till they get them in the door.........in 20 degree air....with no insulation........dumbassfools.com........like the big wire cages full of chameleons setting for 10 minutes in the air.......or as said...all the other stuff.......sad.......and you know the stuff will live for a little while till they sell it...........then die when it's someone elses problem

ask for money....you don't want a lye coated fork wounded male anyways........ask for a baby girl.........

good luck..........

Well the first sign this was someone you dont want to deal with is that he told you it was eating pinkys. What baby BP eats pinkys? I have hatched pleanty and right out of the egg they will take small to medium mice. If he got it from a dealer at another show and is trading you a male bp for it, something is wrong. You made a foolish trade. I dont know anyone who would make that trade and not think someone was hiding something. As for the sex of the baby, its not too hard to miss-sex them... sounds like this guy just buys and sells snakes like stocks, so I am not surprised he miss-sexed it, or just told you what you wanted to hear.
