Hello all, hope you are having a wonderful New Year!

This morning as I was misting Lucutis, I noticed a toenail on his front right foot was bent at a 90 degree angle. It looked like it had broken off. I tried to get a picture of it while he was still on his branch, because I didn't wan't to harm him further, but he just went into a defensive posture and his foot was hidden (First Pic). I ended up taking him out and almost instantly his nail fell right off on my hand. I got a pic of his foot and of the nail and then put him back.

He doesn't seem to be in any pain, or have any trouble getting around. Is this a normal occurance? Will the nail grow back?

I have no idea why it would have broken. I never see him crawl on the screen unless he is fleeing a big scary human, so I don't know if it got caught on the screen.
