Health Question?

anyone05 Jan 01, 2006 12:27 AM

Hello,
I have a question concerning my african rock python. He will be taken to the vet but being it is early sunday and the new year i thought i would ask you guys. I noticed earlier tonight that he was acting weird. He will flatten out one portion of his body while the rest is normal and raises it above the ground in an arc until it touches the top of his cage. He has done it for the past 10 minutes. The arc in his body will press hard on top of the cage and actually raise the roof.

Any information would help me calm down.

thank you

Well I just went to check his temps and the air temp right now on my digital thermometer is sitting at 85 and he has a basking spot under his hide of about 93. The humidity was around 55% and the cage is front opening plastic cage, with ventilation around the doors. Well my wife said he has done it 3 other times before while i have been gone.

thank you for any help
