I am having trouble keeping the humidity up in my WD tank. I downgraded from a 50 to a 30 gallon tank to see if it would be simpler to keep a smaller tank more humid (my WD is only 7 to 8 inches long right now)I am using a moist coconut bark for substrate. there is a pool big enough for him to swim in, a waterdish, an undertank heater, a ceramic bulb heater a full spectrum uv light, various things for him to climb on and a towel covering half of the cage top. and i live in Oregon where it has been pouring rain for 4 days. The hot side of the tank is 85 degrees with the basking spot at about 93 degrees. the humidity stays at about 40% and when i spray the tank it will breifly go up to 80% (im on vacation right now so luckily i can spray him quite often) Im going to put a pothos plant in his cage tommorow to see if that helps any. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Odd, it should be pretty easy to keep the humidity up in a 30 gallon aqarium in oregon.

I live in Phoenix, AZ - so the humidty outside is about 10-15 usually. My enclosure is 6 x 4 x 2 so in order to keep the humidty 50 or above I need to have a humidifier pumping "fog" into the enclosure about 4-5 hours a day (which is about a gallon of water every 2-3 days).

You can try a larger water area, or just more misting. Waterfalls help a lot too if you can. If you had a false-bottom set up , you could install a make-shift rain system that just sprays or drips water into the tank every so often. Then you can drain the water using a syphon from the bottom. But you would need a false-bottom set up.
