My 3 toe boxies

steffke Jan 01, 2006 06:42 PM

Here are the 2 of them all dryied off after a good soak. I have named the larger one (female) Hilde and the smaller one (male?) Tristan. Their skin looks a lot better and their color seems brighter since they arrived. The male can pull completely into his shell, and Hilde can now pull in twice as far as she could before. There was a lot of dried dead skin that I rubed off after a soaking that coated their hinges and the portion where the upper and lower shells are fused.

They are very pretty turtles & very lucky that you were able to adopt them!

Yes, they are adorable. Each of my three-toeds have their own personalities. It amazes me that they do-just like people, lol!

They really are so different from one another.
Because I see how different each one is it always amazes me when I meet people who think turtles are nothing more than moving rocks.
Then I feel sad for people who don't take the time to see how intelligent animals are, I feel sad for them because I think they are missing out on too much in life.
Oh well what can ya do?
