i took my res to a vet. had to travel a town over to get to it. anyway, doc said it was just an eye infection gone bad and that he didnt have any other disease. THANK GOD!! he told me to keep the water in the 80's to keep the immune system running. he gave me a disinfectant solution to put on his eye twice a day and sure enough the eye is healing. however, now that the eye is done swelling, there was a flesh wound because my other turtle seems to have bit it. now theres a piece of skin hanging on the bottom of the eyelid. it doesnt get in the way of his vision but it looks quite nasty and painful. it looks like a its still connect to his eyelid. will this fall off or do i need to have it removed??

Good news!! And great that you got him to a vet!! I would just keep him away from the other turtle for now and keep and see how that skin heals. It may be some dead tissue that will slough off.
