Tony pet shops are going to mark up prices in-order to increase their profit margin. But more important would be this, are you ready to give up enough room for a enclosure around 8 ft. long and 4 ft. wide for an exyptian that is full grown? These species are the gaints of the uro world getting 2 to 3 feet long themselves.
dont worry it will be a while before im ready for these guys, but i have always wanted one, i plan on buying a house in the next year or so, maby after that,
anyway i was just curious it was a few years ago but i have seen them as cheap as 50 bucks was this cause they were wild caught and the ones at the store are captive bred or did they go through a popularity slump, i havent seen any locally in about 5 years, but i was just curious
I paid $250 for mine and consider it well worth the price. You may also pay a little more going through a reputable breeder, but in the end you will likely be far happier than with the "bargain lizard".
