Whenever my monitors are outside and people see them and stop to ask questions, why are men scared?Always at the lake or outside my house, women come up to me and think they are adorable, sweet, cute and can't resist touching them. They even bring their small children by later on to see them.I thought Women hated reptiles?Men on the other hand, give strange looks, look at a distance and never get close enough to even see them close up.This is an observation of over 15 years and hundreds of people.Just curious why most men are scared or uninterested, when the gals are monitor loversEither way,it works to my advantage

Well, I can say that if you're a female.. well, they probably get that feline, woman thing.. and they're thinking... 'Well, if they're cats hate me... that's bad enough... but a huge lizard...'very intimidating...

Also, all those guys may be gay.

I think its a tendency more so in females.

Perhaps also, the men don't wish to appear inexperienced around another male (you), so don't ask questions. In my experience, one-up-manship is a big thing to human males.

Or perhaps the women think you're cute.

Could be many things, but that is a very interesting observation. =)

Women aren't afraid of reptiles. Women are afraid of snakes. I've talked to leopard geckos and bearded dragon breeders who HATE snakes. But a monitor has legs and everything.
(note: I'm of course talking majority-percentage wise, and if you don't believe me, start asking random women)
As far as men and the monitor go, I think the manhood comment was right on.
