I have read (and own) both "Iguanas for Dummies" and "Green Iguana; The Ultimate Owners manual". Kaplan's book is very good for basics of lighting, heat, and diet. I disagree with the idea of having to "dominate" your iguana to be sure it knows you are the Alpha ig. My wife and I took the approach of "Let's raise our iguana like she was one of our children. Give her lots of love, and you'll get love back. The fact that she has never bit us, or tail whipped us, in 5 years seems to indicate that our way has been a sucess. Hatfeild's book is good too, but he underestimate's iguanas' intelligence. For instance, there is a section of the book where he goes on about how important it is not to let your iguana sit on your head when they are young. Hatfeild believes that the iguana will try to sit on your head as an adult, and fall off, scratching your face. In fact, what happens is the iguana soon realizes that it has become too large to comfortably sit on your head, and will stand on your back, with their hands on your head, looking over your head. This is what out iguana, Iggi does. She is 5 years old, and much too large to sit on my wife's head. She still enjoys riding around on her back, with her back legs on each of my wife's shoulders, and her hands lightly resting on my wife's head. Iggi will peek over the top of her head, and watch where my wife is going.

You can also go to Melissa Kaplin site and get the information from there. There are even more topics she covers, that are not in the book. It's very informative. She taught me how to care for other reptiles a great deal, not just Iguanas. I just recently bought a young green ig., and he/she is thriving on the diet she recommended.
