24" high should be fine. Those are the dimensions of my enclosures, and I've had no problems, but if you have the space, they love to climb. I'm sure an extra foot wouldn't hurt. As far as price, I've seen some very nice JCP's for under $200. You'd be surprised at what an extra $25 or $50 will get you in quality.

All of my Jungles have been very aboreal, and like to climb branches. So the taller the better. As far as price....It all depends on what you want, I have seen some nice jungles selling for as low as $75-$100, But Usually They don't turn out to be the Stunning animals you usually see posted, The price can go up to $300-$400 for really nice Bright Yellow and Black speciems...The only thing is usually all babies are dull and have no color, they start to gain yellow and brightness around 1-2 years of age, so picking out a baby is a crap shoot, even if purchasing from a "Big Breeder" that has beautiful adults, doesn't mean all the babies will be like them. If you keep your eyes open you will find just the right one. Good luck and welcome to the world Or MORELIA..

Below are some examples of the Jungle Babies I have had, They are all very different, the pattern usually stays the same from baby to adult, its the color that changes. I highly recomend checking out www.moreliapythons.com, its a great place for jungle keepers.

IMO, if your new to carpets, I would suggest going with a sub adult. Why? Well if you get one from a reliable source, they don't stress as easy as a baby. Plus, there seams to be less problems getting them to start eating.

That said, if you can find a seller that guarantees feeding, and you like the snake, I say go for it. There feeding respose is pretty darn good too. Don't expect them to sit around and wait for the prey to come to them. They are a little more "active" eaters than say a Red Tail or Ball Python(both of which I have kept). Also 1 more thing: might want to invest in a snake hook.

I have kept snakes for a good part of my 21 years on this planet and have never felt the need for one until I got my carpet. They can be nippy in the cage but once out, they seam to calm down. Incedently, I am in the market for a snake hook myself right now(i just cant figure out why they are so expensive)

expect to pay a bit more for a snake this size...especially if it's a screamer! You should on the other hand be able to get a better indication of what it should look like as an adult.
