I need to get a 24"x30" peice of cage carpet for my new boaphile 221D, but ZooMed does not make this size. Any ideas? BTW, it is made of pressed wool felt.

Cage carpet is horrible, try using newspaper.
why is cage carpet bad???i use it for my leopard geckos and i used it for my bp for a while.
I used that stuff once for my leopard geckos too, for about half a day. When I dumped in a bunch of crickets, every one of the geckos got their teeth stuck in the fibers when they missed a cricket. I had to reach in and free them by hand. It would have been funny but it looked like it hurt when they would start to panic and shake their heads back and forth trying to free themselves.

Always exceptions to every rule. I've had a Leo and three Fat Tails on it now for a year with no problems what so ever.

Why? I use it and love it. Looks better than newspaper, more absorbant, custom fit, simple to clean, aids in shedding.

! Looks like yer outnumbered Belgian. Actually I use it too. Got mine from a putt putt golf course. No more hassle than doin' the laundry, which I also do. Just cut enough for two peices for each enclosure and ya switch off.

So what Quig, you think what is good for one ball (golf) is good for another (bp)? We use both newspaper and carpet. We feel it is important to make sure that he has the best lifestyle he can and changing surroundings keeps him from getting bored. We changed his furniture around a couple of times but he always pushed it back to the same places (OCD snake!) and he hasn't figured out how to pull the carpet/paper up yet so we rotate it (I think it is not a lack of cunning on his part, just that darn lack of apposable thumb thing again).
In truth it just depends on our current laziness. Carpet is just a pain to clean whereas new newspaper is so quick and easy to pick up and put down.

Not hard to clean at all.. take dirty carpet out, put in clean carpet. take dirty carpet outside and spray it down with a jet nozzle setting on the hose and hang to dry... takes a min. or so with each carpet.. a little extra if there is something you need a scrub brush for that the jet nozzle can't get on its own. Once a month, soak carpets in a bucket of a chlorhex. solution for 10 min. then rinse and hang to dry.
in the winter time I have a bunch of extra carpets so I can just pile up the dirty ones for a couple weeks until I am on the last clean set and then clean all the dirty ones at one time.

working at a nature center like I do, we do try to stress the education of reduce, reuse, recycle to kids on a frequent basis. I guess I more or less follow that teaching by not creating excess trash that doesn't need to be created. Carpet means I can dump the fecal stuff out in the woods or garden and then wash and reuse the carpet. The only trash being created is when the carpets are too worn out to be used anymore and need to be replaced. (happens about every 1-3 years).

around here Lowes (hardware/home improvement store) carries it in their carpet section. They call it 'fusion carpet'. It's on those big rolls that you have to have it cut from. 6 foot width and you tell them what length you want it cut to. Runs about $2.50-3.00 a yard. Our lowes often had it in gray and green colors though I believe I saw it once in a brown. Once a year, I would buy 10 feet of it and cut it down to fit all my cages & throw out the old. Since I had so many odd sizes wasting my money at a petstore was out of the question (not to mention that the stuff sold at petstores wasn't even cut right to fit the tanks they said it fit lol).

I just use normal newspaper in the racks and carpet in the display cages.
Just find the newspaper cages easier to clean but it all comes down to personal preference.
