Dieing gecko?

shawn20 Jan 03, 2006 10:42 AM

its been about a month now and my hi tangerine(male) hasn't eatin anything. I've tried crickets and mealworms. He is in a 20 gallon tank with 1 female albino paternless loepard gecko. temperature on the hot side is about 88-92. At night its about 80. Both of them are always in the humidity hide. The female eat plenty, maybe a litle to much, but she is my little girl. In the past week i saw him kinda stare at a cricket for like 5 minutes kinda like he never saw one before. Also his droppings are clear with like dark particles in it. So i think his toll is near, but if anyone has any sugestions on what i should do rather than taking it to the vet because it was from petco. (im new to this lizzard stuff.) But both my hi tagerine and my albino paternless were from petco. And my new albino tha ti got from a captive bred place in waukesha,wi. So any help would be appreciated

As I am sure others will agree, regardless of where you got the lizard you should take it to a vet ASAP. I wish I can offer more advice but I can not.

google: "leopard gecko caresheet"

I have a gecko from Petco (gourment rodent) and she is doing quite well.

No matter what, you better get it to a vet to find out what the heck is wrong. You probably infected the leo you have housed him with also. If it is a parasite you will probably need to treat any leo the sick one has been near.

You need to find a Herp vet (Reptile vet). Just call any of the vets offices in your city they should be able to recommend you to a vet that specializes in Herps.
