cyclura behavior

Question to the rhino owners? Are these guys bi-polar? My little rhino is approx 1-1.5 months old. One day he will climb up onto our hands and sit there calmly and get stroked, the next day he trys to run through walls to get away from us, and then another day he will chomp down on your fingers lol. Only consitancy is he will eat from your hands. Go figure!

your's sounds completely normal. They tend to be that way for awhile. about 2 yrs of age they seem to "get it" and calm down a lot. be patient, its worth it.
Have you tried the cyclura forum on KS?

jf is right, that behavior sounds totally normal. They do calm down considerably around the 2 year mark, it's quite amazing the change that comes over them. This can be accomplished sooner if the cyclura is allowed some freeroaming time after it's a year old.

This is a 3 week old baby, then at 2 years, then with a friend doing some education at Reptile Fest in Chicago, 2004.
