Possible problem

I just got my retic not too long ago and so far the snake is really great and im lovin it. Unfortunately, this didnt last long. I noticed that a couple days ago in the morning time it was making a weird hiccuping sound. I fed my snake not too long ago and i didnt pick it up for about 2 days to let it digest, so i took it out the other day. While it was out, i noticed a tiny bump under its throat. This made me think RI really quickly, but its not coughing out any mucous or wheezing or anything of that sort. It just made hiccup sounds for about five minutes( this happened twice) and has the bump under its throat. If this helps at all, it soaked in the water i provided for it for the first time the day before it started this. I also dont know how he could have gotten RI because i keep him in desirable settings. Mist twice a day, 92-93 daytime temp, 87 night temp. Im confused as to how he got it or what it is. Also, dont try to connect this with my earlier posts, i posted those for my buddy who didnt get a computer until christmas, the tiger retic and the burm were not my snakes, this is my first retic and i dont have a burm. My retic is a hatchling about 2-2 1/2 ft long. Very docile and good eater. I will be very thankful for any comments.

The bulging throat and noises could indicate the beginning of an RI. Keep a watchful eye for open-mouth breathing and/or a change in behavior.

Also, 92-93 is good for the basking area temperature, but the snake also needs a cool area of the cage that's around 80 degrees. If the entire cage is 92-93 that's way too hot.

You don't need a night drop if you have the proper temperature gradient across the cage. The snake will pick the spot it feels comfortable in at the time.

Generally, for a RI you first make sure the temps and humidity are correct. Also know that stress can trigger an RI or other problems.

If you notice open-mouth breathing, mucous, or if the animal stops eating it is time for a vet.

Good luck!

The bump under its throat actually went away a couple days after that post along with the noises. I was happy when that happened. Also, i think it was because i misted the cool side of the cage, and i do have a cool side, while i should have only been misting under where the heat source is. He is fine now, and he is in shed, but he did eat when this was going on. Thanks for the reply.
