Pool Filtration sand?

Just wondering If pool filtration sand is safe to use for my dune geckos (Steno Petrii)? Its pretty hard to get playsand this time of year and I have a bag of the pool filtraion sand for substrate in my fish tank so I figured if its safe for the Dune geckos then I can get rid of their old sand and put clean pool filter sand in with them.
