feeding habits of baby GTP's

bdelator Jan 03, 2006 10:16 PM

Just wanted to know if anyone has noticed the movement of the black tips of the tails of baby GTP's. I put a green anole in the 20 gallon tank that houses 2 of my babies and noticed that one of the babies was moving the black tip of her tail kind of similar to the way some vipers use the tips of their tails to lure prey. Anyways, for all I know, she could have been only adjusting herself on the branch but any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's known as caudal luring, and many GTP's do it. It's fun to watch, especially the little baby tails that look like tiny strings wiggling around. My little Jaya has a white tail and it just goes a mile a minute!
