Kyle,
What would you like suggestions on?
Cutting the fridge or installing the fan?
My advice make sure you have a power supply for the fan most require DC which you can't plug in!
Why do you want the fan? Thats what I can't figure out.

That is a great incubator idea. I have been hoping to do something like that too. But I wondered how to change the cooling unit to a heat unit. I really like the heat panel idea. is it hard to maintain a steady temp? I really don't think you need the circulation. Just open the door once every other day for a second.

I use them in the incubators i build butthey are wired seperatly . Depending on the chamber size , heat type , humidity ,incubation styles and room temps the case fan can be used to circulate air so you dont get "hot spots in the top of a incubator , it also circulates the air & humidity if you have a water tray for humidity in the unit itself For the cost of the fan its not a big deal to not install it need it . you can get 120v units so that there is no need for a transformer to run the 12/24 models etc simple wiring skills can hook it up to a swithced lamp cord or dimmer setup.
good luck
