I don't know how I got mites, I haven't added any snakes in the last 5 months, but I have them now. Who has the best price for Provent-a-Mite and Reptile Relief? Is there any other products that do a good job against mites?

You can get a gallon on eBay for $35 plus shipping from seller henrymiller33. It's a better idea than buying a small bottle for $10-12 at a PetStore. I keep it on hand and use it as my "just in case" spritz. I have seen Provent-a-Mite for $20 a can plus shipping there as well. The KS classifieds usually have good deals too. You'll just have to look.
Good luck. Mites are a pain that a lot of us have to deal with at one time or another. When I went through my mite ordeal a couple of years ago it was in a similar situtation: no new snakes added in months, I felt I was diligent in my quarantine procedures, I knew(?) I didn't previously have mites in my established animals but lo and behold, there they were. It raised my awareness and tightened my quarantine procedures no matter who I buy from except Carl Vail...lol. Carl is a great guy and I seen his collection on a regular basis.

go to wal-mart .... look in the pharmacy section for a product called " bedding spray " or something like that . its the wal-mart brand ( equate ) used for killing lice in bedspreads and such ...
its the same chemical , in the same concentration , and uses the same propellants and fillers as provent-a-mite ...
heres the kicker ... its about 60% cheaper .....
