Pastels and sheding?

ncary Jan 04, 2006 02:05 PM

Recently still on fast I have noticed my pastel is going into shed. Shes lost her bright colors as they look faded and her belly is a nice pink tone to it. I notice this pink color only with my pastel when she sheds. Does anyone elses pastels or bps for that matter get that pink color on their bellys in the beginning stages of shed? My other bps I havent noticed a pink belly with a line down the middle when they shed. Wondering if its a pastel thing or what?

Thanks

Nate

I noticed the belly on mine was a little pink too. It went away after it shed, all in one piece if I might add. Will gave me the idea to wet it's hide to raise humidity before it shed. I just wet a paper towel and put it in his hide over his UTH.

O'ya is the line about an inch long on its lower section? That's its belly button!!

no i know where the "belly button" is, this is a long line that runs just about the entire belly of the pastel. It is exactly in the center of the belly and there is a pinkish tent to the belly that wouldnt show up in pics if i tried. It only happens when shes in shed. I just wondered what it was? The humidity is at 60% so thats not a problem and she has a large water bowl for soaking.

Thanks

I know you know I was kidding. At first I thought its belly was irritated by the substrate.
