empty tank to fill

bassfshng7 Jul 24, 2003 05:15 PM

I have a 45 gallon tank with a stand. I'm trying to decide what to keep in it. I already have 5 corn snakes and a ball python. I am looking for a species of rat snake that will climb so it uses the extra height a 45 gallon has. I plan to have a few limbs and maybe some small hides in the limbs, sort of like a tree house. So I'm looking for maybe a smaller species so I can house a pair. Anyone have any ideas or pictures of a simliar set up so I can get some ideas. Thanks a lot
Frank

Elaphe obsoleta love to climb and they would make good use of any climbing space you might give them. An everglades rat snake would make a nice colorful addition to that tank. They are bigger than corn snakes so you couldn't house a pair in there though.

I'd vote for a liecistic (sp?) Texas rat or a everglades rat.
both very aboral and both would look great.
good luck.
