Lizard for a 29gal

newtman45 Jan 04, 2006 08:18 PM

Hey I already have all the supplies just have to gvvet a lizard. Now I want a lizard that is handleable and can live in this tank its whole life. Also I would like to make the tank a desert terrarium if not a woodland terrarium is fine but not a tropical terrarium. I already know about leopard, pictus, and crested geckos but I want something else. Also if possible I would like to be able to have at least 2 lizards in the tank if not fine.

wow, im not really sure what to tell you. there are not many handable lizards that could live out there life in a tank that small. aside from leopard geckos which you know about its going to be hard to find something. most desert dwellers need ALOT of space. they need large enclosures to help them thermoregulate properly. you might be able to house a collared lizard(Crotaphytus collaris)but i am not sure, and i am also not sure if you can handle them or not. i just did a quick search on some of the desert lizards i could think of and thats the only i could find that could live in a smaller enclosure. good luck though

Yeah collards are handle able I've read up alot on them.Theyre cool. How do you care for leopard lizards? - not geckos.Do you know of any wood land lizard species that dont require high humidity and can live in a 29gal all their life and are handleable?
