Hormonal blue?

patrickholmes Jan 04, 2006 08:39 PM

What's the difference between hormonal and true high blue? As stated before, these aniamls are are cbb siblings. The males are identical and fairly typical 'sorongs'. The sisters (which are substantially larger [a good sign in my opinion] and not for sale) are quite different from the males, one having lots of blue/turquoise highlights and the other being almost solid blue/turquoise. I haven't seen the parents yet, but isn't it possible to get offspring similar to the blue female by breeding the male with a female that looks like him? Thanks for all the input guys. I should have pics up in the next couple of days.

most gtp females when gravid will turn blue due to hormones, thus hormonal blue.

adult high blue males, cbb, you're looking at appx $500-600 each. high blue females, $3000-5000. It's theoretically possible to get a high blue animal from parents with barely any blue..just as it's been proven you can breed 2 high blue animals and get offspring with minimal blue. all you can do is pick a pair, breed them, and hope for the best.

$500-$600 for adult High Blue males point me in the direction. I want at least 20 of them or as many as they have and the parents. I am guessing your not talking about true Blue males and your meaning nice blue stripes. If not hook a brother up!!!!!

It's an honest mistake.

True blue males - 5k-10k
True blue females (very very rare) - 8k - priceless.

If CML, if you find a blue chondro for 3k... i'll take 2 of them!... baby color - blue chondros are still very rare!

Whoops...my bad. I had meant simply a lot of blue, as in striped, on males. As for actual high blue animals, especially females...you don't really see too many offered for sale to begin with to the general public, so I just kinda stabbed in the dark lol. Most of those animals are sold before they're even for sale.

I agree, Tim! I spent well over 15K for "true" high blue males. And these weren't even at breeder age. So, if you can get those for $500 a shot will you be kind enough to share some of the honey pot?
