Any Good Herping In The Florida Keys?

FleshMechanic Jan 04, 2006 09:04 PM

I'll be staying in Key West for a few days next week and I was wondering if anyone knew if it was worth it for me to bring some snake hooks, and if so... any good locations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I was down there for work for about a month and a half, I was so busy with work I didn't do much herping but I saw a one DOR Lower keys corn snake,5-6 Nerodia Clarkii Compressicauda, and about 40 iguanas. There are C.Adamanteus on Sugarloaf,Big pine, and the torch keys and some of the uninhabited off islands.
Good Luck!!

I can't help with your question, but make sure you take a look here first if you don't already know:

Several species that can be collected in the rest of Florida are protected in the lower keys (isolated populations).
