I cannot really speak to this since Mosca hasn't hit a foot yet... I have noticed that he grows in spurts. He will seem to not grow at all, then do a big shed and I swear grows an inch in a week! (I shoudl measure that sometime...) I think snout to tail tip he is only probably 9-10 inches... I actually worry sometimes that he may be growing more slowly than they are supposed to.

How old is he?
Hello-
I thinkthe overall question is one of how the animal is thriving.
Do they eat well, seem stressed, have ailments, receive supplements, caging, etc....
That determines the growth and rate of growth.
Also remember that rhese animals have inherit to thier physiology a brumation period and may grow slowly over the span of their (winter) period.
I can give you a copy of my growth records which I plan to update this week, of all my egyptians. This is for the last 4 years...
I have posted it a few times It is just getting too long to post.
Ed

Could you please send me a copy of these records once they are updated. A personal record of growth would be of great assistancd in determining future cage sizes and time lines for them.
Thanks

My Egyptian, Thor, he is about 14 inches long and is about 6-7 years old. I have had him for 5 years now and he was about 9-10 inches when I got him, so his exact age is unknown. My Mali, Liz, looks so tiny next him. My husband and purchased a larger, wider tank once we learned that Thor could get over 18 inches long so he had room to move around, since he loves to dig in the sand.
