A Solid Black Ball? Oreo??

viper69 Jan 05, 2006 03:52 AM

I saw a post of a someone selling an "oreo" python..The ball python appeared to be solid black...

How the hell do you get a solid black ball? Or is it black, but with pattern too?

In any event I never thought Id see a ball python solid black like it was dipped in ink..Very cool looking.

The black ball is in fact the co-dominant Super form of Cinnamon's. Breeding Cinnamon to Cinnamon is the only way to produce a black ball (They are called various names BUT all are Cinnamons one way or another).

The ''Oreo'' term is coined from expectation of a double mutation Piedbald/Super Cinnamon.

Hope this helps

that would be a funky looking snake. I personally don't like piebalds, but think that that snake (super cinn. x piebald) would be something to see.

So is the Oreo supposed to be solid white and solid black bands?..Sounds wild

i think you can get an all black ball python by breeding two cinnys together. you'll get a super cinny...
as for the oreo... last year at the hamburg show i saw someone who was selling normal looking ball pythons that has little circles on their sides, and the person called them an oreo ball. i dont know if they where genetic or anything but all the babies had the exact same circle.

Where the hell have I been?
Sleeping, lost, and numb.
So glad that I have found you.
I am wide awake and heading home.
