Cold House....help

repscallion Jan 05, 2006 04:28 PM

Over the past month i've been researching veiled chameleons, and preparing a cage for my first. Since i live with my parents, i have no say in the temperature of the house, and in winter in chicago it can get chilly. During the day with the heat lamp and UVB light temp. should be ok, but i was wondering what i can do to keep it warm enough at night in a house that gets as low as 65 degrees. Any advice is appreciated

Use some sort of night time heating, like one of those red or purple bulbs, or a ceramic heater. Also, Veileds are pretty tolerant to temp. changes and it is gets alittle bit cool at night they will do fine, it may even do them some good to cool down for a few hours, like maybe any where between 70-80. Even drops as low as 65 should be fine occasionally.
