as some of you already know i will be getting 1.4 het orange ghosts from John Piro,my dilemma is that i like to breed with a 1.5 ratio and he only has my 4 females available so if i purchased another line of het orange ghost female from someone else could i run into problems with compatibility. im also having special racks built with 6 compartments to hold 1.5 bp's for breeding and id really hate to be short a het for this particular group HAHA

Back in the olden days they were all compatible - now with all the new stuff showing up - not all are - many are but not all and all haven't been crossed to know for sure. Ask the breeder if it comes from any particular line and/or if he knows which lines it would be compatible with.

Yeah, lol. I just haven't had a chance to respond to it yet. In my opinion it's the nicest hypo line out there. Their color gets soooo much better with age unlike other hypo lines that sometimes just fade. This pic is of him when I brought him home from daytona with the pastel female that was waiting in the incubator, him now and an adult female that Gulf Coast Reptiles owns.

He is looking sweet - I forgot - is he breeding yet? That is a great project - if only I had some more money and room - LOL!

its an incredible animal

they are a little higher than the orange ghost, but what do you expect, only one breeder is producing them right now. After this season there should be some available from others as well. Next season is gonna be good as I have one het female from this yr that is already up to 700 gm, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed with her. It will be nice to produce a few of these beauties.

thanks very much, he is looking better than I could have ever wished. Just weighed him today before taking the pics and he is now over 550 gm so he's in with one of my late girls. She cycles every year around end of jan-end of feb. She's actually the mother of my female pastel, 7 eggs/1 pastel what odds. I'll go check on them in a few to see if he's interested or not. My main goal this season was to produce alot of 50% het pieds and my het guys are being champs about it. If it works out right, I should have at least 18-24 50%'ers pop out from this season. most lines of ghost/hypo are compatible. Of the established lines, the Citrus has not been crossed with any but with how different it is from other lines I doubt it is compatible. Also some butterscotch lines don't cross with Orange ghosts. I would say contact Gulf Coast Reptiles and pick up some citrus ghost females, but I bought the last ones they had for this year .
