eating habits

i have a pair of tarahumara mtn kings and when i feed them they eat the pinkies live without coiling them first. is this a pattern they keep or do they grow out of it? just wondering
p.s. the female finally ae a f/t today

I've seen the behavior also, in very young MBK or Cal Kings. Young ones are not yet experienced in stalking. As they mature, they perfect their technique.
