mine did this to me but only when she wasnt use to her surroundings. and another thing i did was put her food on baskin area and she wouldnt touch it so i started to put it in the water and she would chase after it....
Probably due to the fact that turtles eat their food in the water.
Hm if one of your turtles isn't eating, try feeding it different stuff and making sure your temperature is right.. 75 or so should be good enough in the water. Make sure its clean too
Since the turtles are hatchlings, its important to keep a close eye on them. Make sure the water is warm enough and buy a submersible heater if need be. As for food, try offering a different kind. Buy the smaller ones that fit in their mouths. Nutrifin is my turtles choice. Also try giving them shrimp or krill - both available at pet stores. Most babies will eat them up! But be sure to give pellet as well. Try lettuce, strawberries, apples, chicken, eggplant, tomatos, etc.
To help keep the chunks of food from floating away, you can buy a clamp that suctions to the wall of the aquarium and holds food for them to eat. That way they dont have to chase it. Mine love theirs!
If your little one develops any other changes such as swimming lop-sided or not being able to "dive" or swim very well then you need to take them to the vet. (Remember that many hatchlings will not make it just because of physical defects or illness.)
Good luck!

thanks meg! baby started eating but stoppped again. we do feed a variety. it seems that she has a difficult time getting food into her mouth and swallowing it. she puts her paw to her mouth alot and opens her mouth up after and when trying to eat.
