Extreme Appetite

quantumhigh Jan 06, 2006 03:02 PM

Wow, after bring my collard out of his 1 1/2 month sleep, he is a eating monster. When I'am about to feed him, he can see me going into the cricket cage below him. He runs unto the glass and trys to look down at the tank below(kinda arcing his back up). In anticipation of a cricket being pulled out. When I'am about to drop in the cricket in from above, he is jumping up at the forceps holding the bug about to meet doom.

I try to make it hard on him, by placing the cricket on the other side of the tank so he has to chace it down. Love it when the cricket doesnt wanna die and trys to make a desperate escape, but sadly never manage to do so!

Just wanted to share that, really good entertainment to watch!

p.s. still looking great, healthy weight, more active since sleep. maybe a tade overweight.

How you like to see the cricket go to his doom, but it is kinda fun for the collareds to HUNT their food out from plants and stuff. Sometimes I notice my Collareds coughing to try to spook the cricket from their hiding places and sure enough, it works.

Mine do the exact same thing! Every time I go near their tank they look up to see if any thing will fall from above. They've been eating a lot too.

One of my greatest pleasures in life is feeding my collareds. I never tire of watching them hunt and eat.
