A V.gilleni/V.caudolineatus cross.

FR Jan 06, 2006 06:25 PM

We hatche this "Caudoleni" in late dec.

It is a product of a male V.gilleni and a female V.caudolineatus. I do not have a male caudo.

Here is a pic of a normal V.gilleni.

Here is a normal V.caudolineatus.

Here is a pic of a normal hatchling of each,

Here is a wild intermediate between the same two species.

Here is the last clutch we recieved, we have a total of ten eggs in the incubator now.

Enjoy FR

Will any of those crosses be put out on the market at any time soon or is it just a personal project? Just wondering really since I've been trying to find caudos.. though I'd take the crosses too if I could get them.... I'm looking for a small monitor... smaller than ackies even... and the caudos fit the bill...

It depends on the monitor gods, If they all hatch, I will not keep them all. Same goes for the gilleni eggs I have incubating. One thing I can say, eggs are only eggs. Lets see them hatch first. Wish me luck, FR

Man, take a small leave of absence and things happen.

Congrats Frank, they look nice, it'll be interesting to see how they end up as adults, and whether you end up liking them as much/more/less as the Gilleni and Caudos.
