I think the NorthWestern Ringnecks are the ones in Oregon. I had a 2.2 pair of those last summer for my studies and they are literally HARD captives. They define that totally.
I had an adult female eat a baby brown snake. They refused salamanders, frogs, and other snakes in ALL forms(prey items I was told they feed on). I was able to breed them, on the same night both pairs mated.
I eventually gave up on them and sent them to my research partner. He also got 2.2 when I did. They didn't feed too much for him either. Some specimens ate live frogs. After that they needed force fed frogs once a week just to keep their weight up.
Baby specimens that he kept did well, feeding on fish and cut up frogs.
We are not sure what wrong with the adults, maybe it was the shipping in warm weather? Either way it went badly, and we are hoping to start again this year with fresh adults hopefully from several localities/states.
