try the book Green Iguan:the ultimate owners manual. it has some really good plans for the "ultimate iguana habitat"

Very awesome book, also comes with step by step guide for making the ultimate iguana habitat.

There is a very good book by Barlett "Terrariums".
Great enclosure plans for all sorts of species, including iguanas.

Depends what you want to build and how, as well as where.
Outdoor or indoor?

A spare, unused shower stall is often a popular choice (easy cleaning/drain).

Common materials often used: plywood, plexiglass, wiremesh/screen, boards, astro-turf/fake grass, shelves, fake plants (sturdy, easy to clean, not easily eaten), hiding places, sterilized branches, logs, rocks, ropes, vines...

Be creative.
Make it functional. Easy to clean.
Make it colorful, interactive, stimulant for simulating as close as possible natural behavior.
Make it BIG. As big as you can get. Big!
Safe from fire-hazard.
Keep it clean and disinfected daily. Not weekly. Not monthly. Daily.

A cool thing to add is one of those "ambient" CDs with Rainforest sounds. Further simulates a natural environment, keeps the iguana alert instead of in dead silence, and adds a nice touch! Keep it playing repeatedly when you're not around.

Make it well ventilated for sanitary and odor purposes, but not too draft to cause loss of heat and cold spots.

Simple tools can go a long way. If you know someone with more skills, have them help you.
Good luck!
