Another GA shed....Pics

BobBull Jan 07, 2006 01:40 PM

The first picture is the aberrant female I posted yesterday.

This series is another '05 female from Will. She shed last night. The last picture of her shows one aberrant yellow line. The '04 female I have chilling also has one yellow line, while the female above has many. Just another trait to watch.

This series is of a local eastern milk(gasp!!)snake that my neighbors kid rescued from a spider web. It is relaxing after a meal of two f/t small pinks which it took readily from the start. So much for the idea that eastern milks are hard to get started.

That is a killer snake... really love the orange on that king, and killer head pattern... do u have any adults that were that orange as hatchlings, if so what do they look like now??

and what would something like that go for??

Thanx

The '04 wide banded female from Will reached over 36" so she is in hibernation for now, but she has retained most of the orange color. I believe that they are hatched with all of the red pigment (red yellow=orange)they will ever have so as they get older it fades somewhat. The other factor could be hetero vs homozygotic traits for the red. Anywho that female is most definitely still orange. I'll post a picture when I take her out of the big chill.

ZF,

Here is a pic of my 2003 male and a on loan 2001 female from Will. Both had good color as hatchlings and are Sibs from Will's F1 Georgia animals (different years though). The next generation that Bob has and others looks to have even better color and will probably retain even more red/orange due to selective breeding.

Prices range from 75.00 for black and orange highlighted babies, to 250.00 for extremely wide banded babies or orange saturated individuals. (as per Will's ad) email Will for what he has chainkingwill@juno.com

Hey ZF,

You're from Brooklyn? You should have stopped by our table at the White Plains show. I was with Aaron's Frog Farm. I had a couple of nice GA easterns with me, but it seems that WP doesn't attract much of an eastern crowd. E-mail me at chainkingwill@juno.com. Later.
