Does anyone use what they feel is a good methods what are some track records? I do a lot of reading on Jeff Ronnes site and there has been claims of ways to pick them out by a few folks but Jeff in particular.I have her posted there as well hoping for a reply from him. Also when I posted my female yesterday I was looking for people with a theory and hoped to get a little more discussion on what in particular you look for in a poss.het.Thanks to all who replied to my previous post.John

Most people don't want to admit their "theory" in fear they will be rediculed. The consensus seems to be that there is no way to tell the difference between hets and non hets, There are lots of theories, that some people use, the only example I can think of is "How does someone pic lottery numbers" some play birthdays, ect.ect. There are tons of "ways" people think they have hets, Good luck getting people to admit thier theory. I would love to hear some theories as well.

First of all I want to thank you for sharing your information and opinions.I would have to think that these theories can be proven/disproven and that someone has surley kept the poss. hets they have produced from a litter and tried to prove or disprove their theory.I believe Jeff Ronne to be one of those people. If I end up producing from this girl I will at least have 100% hets as her mate is an Albino.I intend to study them with normals to try and determine any visual differences and if (key word "if"I can come up with a proveable way to distinguish hets I promise you ridicule or not I will share my information with all interested parties. These forums are a place that is designed for opinions and ideas and I wish the ridicule you speak of didnt exist, however I know it does. Thanks again!John

I'm not ridiculing anyone. I hope you don't think this because I disagree. Its just my opinion and your right that is what this forum is all about. I think its great you are doing research to find a way to pick poss hets. I just think that the boas in the litter that get the albino gene has nothing at all to do with their appearance. Take care and keep us posted on what you find. I would love to be proven wrong in the situation.

I think Mr Ronne has got somthing.. I posted a pic of my arabesque poss het albino and stripe as a baby on his forum, and he posted that he'd bet $100 he was a het.. There were no takers, and my arab proved to be het for both yesterday.. I think I know what it is due to him picking a het with arabesque pattern, but I'm not going to say.. Either way, figure it isn't speckles, arabs are covered in them, and it isn't the general pattern arabs have their own unique thing going there too. Look at an arabesque het albino baby, and a normal het albino baby and see what is the same.

Yes, Yes, and Yes..

Sometimes what I think it is fades out on some adults, not always it's fully clear on my male still.. these "markings" may be faint as a babies though and be gone by adult size..

I'll be at the Portland show on the 21st.

Pics up on the website..
