Hey. I'd read a post from a while back about how monitors will eat less an be a bit less active in the winter due to decreased overall (like house and outside) surface temps. Although there hasn't been a big drop in activity, I have noticed my ackie is eating less since November. My temps are 90 ambient on the hot side and about a 130 surface temp at the top rung of the stack. Defecation continues usually the morning after a feed. The only reason I'm concerned about the appetite drop is that it's a nine month old and I'd like to feed it as much as possible to promote growth. If the monitor is in a controlled environmnet like a cage, inside a heated house, do these environmental changes outside still have the same effect, ie decreased appetite? I don't think it's an issue of it being cold. b/c it almost always can be found sleeping in cooler parts of the cage.
Thanks.
