Followup to the "Some people are so ignorant.." post... (largeish pics)

Well, tonight Lazarus had his first shed with me... You can tell from how tight and dry the skin was that he's had a long period of dehydration and lack of nutritional input.... Not just a few days but probably into months despite his weight. Though he is a huge boy compared to most of my males... not in terms of weight but in length.. he's a full 10 inches as you'll see when layed out straight next to a ruler... I'm wondering if I've got a possible Tremper Giant on my hands... I'll know more if he keeps gaining weight and gets longer from improved nutrition... However, he has a mean streak in him a mile wide... he bit my mother last night and left an imprint of his teeth in her arm... and got me too at the same time... I think he's been mistreated heavily because even the leos I don't handle often have never bitten me that badly... But, he did to mom what so many people fall for... He's been not feeling well and very lethargic since his near freezing experience... so that lulled her into a false sense of security... I warned her and she said "Oh he won't bite me" And that was the first thing that happened when she took him from my hands..So.. it taught her the lesson quite well that sick animals very rarely CAN defend themselves.. but those on the mend will fight back when they feel it necessary...

Don't mind the touch of pink on his nose and jaw... he'd just eaten a couple of pinkies... I'm using those right now for the nutritional load in them and the natural vitamin D in the liver and kidneys... He's had about 5 2 day old pinks since I got him... though after the next week or so he'll be going back to a normal diet... mealworms and maybe I'll pick up a few crickets at the petshop to see if he'll chase them.....

He looks great for being half frozen. Can't blame the poor guy for biting, sounds like he may have had a ruff life.

Congratulations on the great job with him.
