I posted again so the thread wouldnt go down too low.

Im sorry to be such a pain, but I actually already placed the order, which got held back and Im going to tell them to ship tommorow, so its my last chance to switch between rheo and thermostat.

Anyways your explanations really cleared up allot so thanks allot!!!

I have a couple more questions though, lets say I set the temp to 88 degrees on the thermostat, will the thermostat shut off when the probe detects 88 degres or will it wait a couple more degrees like 90-91.

Also then when it shuts off how low does it let the temps go before it turns on again. Does it turn on when the temps go too low?? how low, saying I set it to 88 degrees??

I also have one of the infrared temp guns, which I think (correct me if Im wrong) Is more acurate than the probes, that was one of the reason why I prefered the rheostat, because I would measure the temps with my infrared gun, what Im wondering is how accurate is the probe??
Is it going to detect just one small spot, lets say the hottest spot, and therefore the temps never get hot enough???
Also if I have to keep the probe in the cage for the thermostat to adjust itself, would the leos bite on it or anything???
Or is their a way to set it up so they dont??

The one Im getting is the:
Zoo Med 500R thermostat with probe
If you have any opinions why IO should/shouldnt buy this model please let me know.

Thanks Allot
Jack
