captive bred Dumerilii?

SnakeGrrl Jan 08, 2006 08:16 PM

A reptile specialty store near me has some beautiful captive bred (captive hatched?) Dumeril's Monitors for sale. I have been interested in them for quite some time but have been reluctant because I am not a big fan of wild caught critters. These cb babies really appeal to me...

I was wondering if anyone here knew of anyone breeding these guys? I swear I have seen them on kingsnake before but do not remember who had them. I would really love to add one to my herp family but definately want CB. Any suggestions as to where I look?

Thanks!

Contact Ben Aller. If I'm not mistaken, he still has a few babies left from his last clutch, and if not, he has at least another 40 eggs currently incubating.

If a dealer cannot prove the origin of the animals they sell with photos, I would say it's too good to be true, and would not believe their claim. Buy from a breeder; you'll know what you're getting, plus, you can get suggestions, tips, and advise directly from somebody who has experience and knowledge of these animals.

I am pretty sure he has some ads currently running in the KS classifieds, but you can also contact him through this forum. Since he is a regular participant of this forum, just find a post or reply by him(tectovaranus), and you can contact him directly through there. Good luck!

Cheers,

Bob

I just picked up a CB Dumeril from Ben. Best deal ever. He is so knowledgeable and gave me tons of info on the monitor. He provides the best care for his animals and will make sure you do the same. Good luck!
