ajfreptiles Jan 08, 2006 10:28 PM

Hello All. I had a great time this past Saturday in NYC at the reptile show. I used my friends camera, and took some decent pics even though I had no idea how to use the thing...LOL...I also got to meet some fantastic people who produce some totally AMAZING animals.

Hope you enjoy the pics....

Surely my favorite!!... The man who produces some of the most amazing Salmon boas from his Orangasm line, Frank Martin.
He also has produced some of the cleanest lightest Ghost boas I have ever seen...he had some gorgeous looking animals at the show, along with some Jungles and as always just a kaleidoscope of great looking het for just about everything boas.

That guy just bought an amazing albino!!

............

PM Herps had some awesome sunsets....and for not knowing what I was doing these came out very well...Nice meeting you Paul.

Great seeing you again Scott....you produce some fantastic stripe line Albino's Sunglows and great snows as well.

Hope you enjoy the pics. Andy Federico

It was a great time at the show....but then what show that is loaded with boas would not be great?? LOL...

As for the Salmon breedings... F1's.... Thanks for the compliments...They were produced from breeding a K grade Rich Ihle Salmon male to a unknown bloodline female ...that although is classed as a normal pastel right now, her babies are just too unusual for me. I bred that same male that year to 3 totally different females and after seeing the outcomes...I believe that although the male is exceptional, the female has got to be hiding something inside. Future breedings are planned. Thanks Andy

Sorry I didn't get to see you there!

I ended up taking a ride up with some friends to meet up with some other friends..

Met with Greg Riso and Dallas Quarles... long time buddies but have never met face to face.

Anyway, had a nice time, picked up some little boogers..

Take care, Joe

I wish I got to meet you there! Met alot of great people as well. Maybe next time...Do you ever get to the Hamburg, PA show? I try to make that one as often as I can. Hope to meet soon. Andy

PS: what kind of little boogers did you find?? Post some pics. Andy

Hi Andy, so I actually picked up a few pretty balls I found here and there.
Other than that, I picked up some male Hypo Sonoran Boas that Greg Riso produced and brought for me.

Beautiful, very outwardly healthy little boogers!

I can send pics of the balls I bought to you... please email me rollojoe@hotmail.com

thanks, Joe

I'm moving to New Jersy in about three months. I was supposed to move to NYC but I have read some laws that prohibit boa constrictors in the city. Is it one of those laws that they don't enforce or what? Thanks.

Hi,

I beleive that the law prohibits any boa or python that has the potential of growing over 8 feet. It was a state law that became effective Jan 1 2005. Maybe the legislators amended it...I don't know. I'll have to do more research, I can let you know what I find out.

They are NOT illegal in the State Of New York. The recent law was amended and it bans large pythons, anacondas and some Monitor Lizard species. HOWEVER, it is ILLEGAL to own a BOA in the confines of NYC. Its against the administrative law. Good luck in Jersey.
