Mouse gets revenge!!!

mikebell Jan 09, 2006 08:44 AM

According to the Associated press, a mouse got his revenge. A home owner in New Mexico caught a mouse in his home. He threw it in a pile of burning leaves outside, the flaming rodent ran from the pile of leaves back to the house and set the house on fire. No people were hurt, but the house was destroyed. There was no mention of the fate of the mouse, but I have to assume he too was destroyed. If the home owner had also died, he would have been a top contender for the 2006 Darwin Award.

I'm amazed at the ignorance in this world. I just hope this idiot didn't have any offspring to further polute the gene pool.

The owner would've been disqualified for a Darwin Award. In order to qualify, there has to be a clear and forseeable danger in the action. Although a flaming rodent setting the house ablaze is humorous, it was not clear and forseeable that the rodent would've escaped back into the house.

(On a side note: I am a big fan of natural selection in the human race.)

I suspect that the insurance adjuster will look into this story more closely. I'm skeptical.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

It is an award given to someone that has helped humanity out by removing themselves from the gene pool. http://www. darwinawards. com/ (put the thing together for the link.

i read that too
see that is what you get for throwing a live animal into a fire. got what he deserves. cruelty to animals is wrong, even if it is snake food.
oh ps that area is under a open fire ban the guy wont get a thing from his insurance, he had an open fire when they were banned and his house burned as a result.

irony at its finest, you tried to get rid of a pest in your house, but ended up with no house anymore in trying to get rid of the pest

next time, go into your back yard, find a nice big bullsnake, kingsnake or other rodent eater, and let it run loose in your house for a day or 2 it will find all of the mice...
