Tangerine het albino X tangerine albino

ragnew Jul 24, 2003 09:10 PM

Hey,

Gotta quick question for all you... This past february I produced my first albino hatchling. This hatchling wasn't an albino that had trace amounts of orange on the head, legs, and tail... but instead it had tangerine replacing all that was usually yellow in color. I've produced lots of other tang albinos, but none with the same amount of orange as this one. Now heres my question.... The male that fathered these babies was a very nice hypo tangerine that was 100% het for albinism, while the mother is a very nice albino, but doesnt have a ton of orange on the body (that is why I was surprised to see the first albino that hatched out). Next year I plan on breeding the tangerine albino female that hatched out this year, back to her hypo tangerine father, who is again 100% het for albino... Will their babies all have the extreme amounts of orange that their mother has??? Or will this pairing pretty much produce similar appearing offspring as to what was produced this year?? Either way I'd be happy, but I was just wondering if I'd have a better chance of getting another tangerine, tangerine albino...

As always thanks much.. I really appreciate it,
Rich

You can't really tell with tangs. It is possible that you would end up with completely normal harchlings but it is also possible you will end up with even more spectactularly colored leos. Being that both parents have high amounts of orange coloration most likely the majority of your hatchlings will reflect the parents.
