Have you guys heard of anything like this?

Grunngg Jan 09, 2006 10:00 PM

A guy at local pet store told me he used to have a Leopard Gecko, a Fat Tail Gecko, a Aligator Gecko, and another kind, all kept together in a 20gallon long tank. He said he had them for a year with no problems at all. They were his sisters, thats why he only had them for a year, he had to give em back.

I've heard of it, but it doesn't mean I like it. Keeping 4 adult geks of different species together with no problems doesn't mean that it was good for them, either. I keep my female Leo in a 20-gal tank, and I feel thats a minimum for her, let alone 3 more geckos. I will probably be getting her more spacious accomodations when I find some extra $$. Also, I believe the habitat of Leo's and Fattails are similar, but not necessarily so for Alligator (I'm not familiar with this species, do you have a scientific name?) or the other gecko.
I don't have all that much experience myself, and I don't mean to rant, but hearing of these situations annoys me. Well, thats my two cents, we'll see what others with more experience think.

Take care,
Nick

I have no idea what the scientific name is, or the other Gecko. I'm just going by what the guy at the pet store said he did. Sounds odd. But if it worked, and everything was happy, then good for him. I know many people would love to have multiple species in a cage together.

While it's not a combination I would recomend, I could see it happening. a 20 gallon tank would be much to small however in my opinion. I'm curious as to what the other gecko was.
