Long toenails ???

reptibull Jan 10, 2006 09:40 AM

Hello. I just bought a trio of Leopards from a show. They were sosposed to be two females and one male but ended up not being so. I checked them too but I guess I didnt look good enough. No matter, I love them anyway. All three have had some shedding problems it seems are they all were really dull in color (they are totaly normal so they are really dark anyway), two of them are missing toenails (not toes) and one has really long toenails. They curl over to the side of the toe and are yellowy. Is there something I can do to help this lizard out? Maybe use tiny small animal nailclippers and clip them? I put in a nice humid box for them and their color and scales look better. Other than the toe nails these three are plump, active and eating well and are total clowns. These are the funniest Geckos that I have seen. The person that had them didnt' take the best care of them. Prob someone breeding only for the pet store trade and not really caring about the animals themselves. But, oh well, I have them now. Thanks for any help with the toenail problem!

I could post a photo of these girls so that you can see the long toenails if that will help with your advice. How do I go about posting a photo? I tried and failed. Thanks for any help with that too.

try putting a piece of rough stone in there. I like rainbow rock, and you can find bulk pieces at landscaping stores.
