I'm always glad to help if I can..so don't feel bad about all the questions!
I read the post where you said that you moved the setup upstairs and the temperatures sound much better IMHO. Like I said before, there are many different means of hatching the eggs successfully. The best tidea IMHO is to find what works for you and then keep on using that method.
You said.."you said that once the time gets close for them to lay, they will stop eating"...I think what I said was that some stop eating. I have had some that never stop....so that's not always the best sign to look for. I have found that when they are close to the day that they will lay the eggs that they seem to drink more. Most of them will travel around the cage more too (looking for a place to lay the eggs, I presume). The biggest indicator that the day is close is that they will be digging. Most of them dig several holes or partial holes over a couple of days (and in some cases, even longer) before they become intent on digging the final hole. By intent, I mean they will dig and dig the same hole and may even stay in the hole overnight. I'm sorry I can't give you a more definite answer. I know its a "nervous" time for their keepers (and believe me, I still get nervous after having bred chameleons for over 10 years now) but most that are healthy and have a place to dig that they are satisfied will get through it without any trouble...in their own way!
Fingers are still crossed for you!
