My good friend Michael got this snake from a local pet shop in the Catawba Valley last May or June. She hibernated at my place this past winter and I will pair her with my wild caught Iredell County (adjoining counties) male this spring.

I have had him since October of 2004.
Michael reported to me that, sadly, the spot where he was collected has since been bulldozed and cleared.
That is one of the reasons we do what we do with the snakes, right?

Nice to see you back on here Peter. That female Catawba County Eastern looks a lot better than when I first got her. The guy at the pet store (who I usually sell snakes to) had just gotten her in from a customer in the Hickory area, along the Catawba River, and he called me because she was so damn mean that he couldn't do anything with her. You've done a good job with her. I can't wait to see those Catawba Valley babies!!!
Hopefully 2006 will turn up more Eastern Kings out here than 2005 did. I'm off work next Monday and heading to set up some new sites. I'd love to set you up with 1.1 Catawba and 1.1 Iredell.
Please keep us posted on the progress with those Eastern King breeding projects.
