Very Strange Hatchling. Look! *PIC*

TheHypoGecko Jul 24, 2003 10:21 PM

I've had dozens of normal and hypo looking geckos hatch out this year, but nothing like this. His brother hatched out 6 days ago looking perfectly normal and I though this egg was done. I cam come today and saw this strange little guy in the incubator. He's about half the size of all my other hatchlings and it looks like his color didn't develop all the way. It looks kinda like a snow, but none of my other geckos have hatched out this color. In person the dark pigment actually looks more like a purple color. He also didn't absorb all of his nutrients in his egg, only about half of it. Has anybody else had anything like this hatch out?

I hatched out a normal colored hatchling about that size...super tiny. Even at two months, she's still only a little bigger than a normal hatchling. There was a lot of fluid and some pussy looking stuff still in the egg tho. =/

Nothing that color tho. Good luck with her =3

One of my hatchlings had hatched out with no color. She had the black bands, but they were very light in color. The part thats suppose to be yellow, there was so color, it was just weird, it was like a flesh like skin tone color, like a very faint pinkish. I'm not sure, its hard to describe. She stayed that way for a little while, until one night, she had turned this AMAZING orange color overnight when she shed!!! It was the most amazing thing ever!!!! Those bands turned lavendar, and now every time she sheds the orange keeps getting better and better, and its so vivid. I just love it! I have got to get a picture of her.

Keep your eye on that one, and see what happens. What kind of parents does it have? Carrot tails? Tangerines?

Could I see a pic of your hatchling? This baby came from a tangerine to normal cross.

This one came out a while back and as you can see in the pic it looks a little small and no color. The bands are also more of a dark lavender color rather than black.
After a couple of sheds she looked just like a normal though.
