Trip to the emergency room!!!!

ankinc Jan 10, 2006 07:11 PM

Hey guys,

I remember somebody putting a thread up when they went to the ER, so I thought I would too. I just got back after being there for 3 hours. I was playing football earlier and got tackled, and fell the wrong way....right on my collar bone. It snapped. The hospital didn't even do anything for me! They gave me a sling, some pain killers (which I am very thankful for ) and told me it would recover on it's own. Too bad I can;t play football for 4 weeks now!!!

Oh no! Thats not fun. I broke mine rollerblading (well, roller-ing and flipping down a hill while wearing rollerblades...) It sucks...
Word of warning, dont sit in a recliner chair and then invite your dong to jump up on the footrest part... It has a slight catapult effect of dumping you forward that doesnt feel good on the healing process.. X-(

Hope you get better soon!

As for you Adam, in no way do I mean "HAHAHAHAHA" Towards you taking a trip to the ER. No wonder you weren't on MSN messanger tonight! lol. I'm real sorry, and I hope you speed through the recovery and healing process quickly! Just a word of advice though. "Don't invite your dong on your reclining chair." LMAO HAHAHAHAHA that was just so cute I can't help it, I'm really sorry but I just can't stop laughing!!!

It'll be four weeks if you're lucky! That is about all they can do for your collar bone, just put your arm in a sling. It was the most painful thing I've ever been through. Much more painful than any other broken bone I've had. I don't mean to sound so negative, but it was the worst. Try not to cough, sneeze or get the hiccups, you'll be soory if you do. Good luck, I hope you are up and around in 4 weeks.

dianedfisher Jan 11, 2006 10:15 AM

Adam, I'm so sorry to hear about this! Broken collar bones are DEFINITELY painful for a while-especially if you plan on MOVING AROUND much. I hope you have someone to help with your cham care because you are obviously a meticulous keeper and may have some difficulty getting into each cage to clean without causing yourself considerable agony. Ouch...

Melisondre: for a while there I thought that perhaps you knew some intimate details about Adam that the rest of us were not privy too. LOL glad to read the clarification because you made me laugh, also!!

hey guys,

Actually, it doesn't seem to be that bad. I just can't lift up my right arm. But I can still clean the cham cages with my left. I am not really even taking the pain killers, cause it doesnt hurt too bad, despite it being a complete break of the collar bone. I even went down to watch my friends play football for a bit today. Oh yea, btw, i found out more accurately what happened today (it is all a daze to me). I was SPRINTING for the touchdown, and my friend, on the opposite team caught up to em from behind. He pushed me, I fell to the ground, but since he was spriinting as fast as he could, he couldn't stop, and "trampled" over me with him cleats. LOL, luckily he didn't wear his metal cleats like the day before.... Anyway, he stepped right on my collar bone, and CRACK!!! I was in the middle of the field, and even people in the end zones said they heard it loudly!!!

I'm not sure how bad your right arm is, but could you at least start to use the left arm to clean your yard???

Gee Adam, that really does suck. Could it have been you fell out of a tree (while playing chameleon) and are too embarassed to tell us the truth??

Be careful and heal quickly! Your critters need a fully functioning keeper (well, at least fully functioning physical, not sure what to say about your mental health jk)

Oh never mind, just keep the dong of the recliner LMAO

Hey Adam hope ya feel better real soon,

I broke my collar bone when I was 6 months old, don't remeber a thing, hehehehee, seems my Dad was supposed to be watching me, as he was cat napping, and let me roll off the bed onto the floor. It must have hurt, my mom said she had to carry me around for 3 weeks as I cried everytime she put me down.

Are you sure you were not trying to see if you could FLY down from that big tree you were in? hehehehee LOL

Tyler said he would CLEAN UP the yard for ya, LMAO

And what is wierd is right before I left the house to go play, my mom specifically said to me "don't break your collar bone. I don't want to have to go to the emergency room tonight." Those were her exact words.....creepy eh?
